The west has long acknowledged the Islamic world's contribution to the field of medicine but very few people recognise the roots and foundations which led to such great advances and findings. These roots are scattered throughout the texts of the Qur'aan and the Sunnah and this site aims to gather them in one place, and present them in a manner that both the doctor and layman may benefit. The P-M team consists of researchers and students of knowledge who realise that we are living in a time where health problems have reached epidemic proportions and people are suffering great spiritual and physical diseases. Such problems cannot however, be brought to an end by adopting the many hundreds of new gimics and treatment plans, but will require Divine aid and knowledge, which cannot be found anywhere else but in the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah.

Prophetic-Medicine.com is a non-profit based reference website which is managed by a team of Muslim students of knowledge. The concept of the Prophetic-Medicine website was first conceived in Ramadhan 2008 after it became clear to us that there was a lack of information about the various authentic medicines which the Prophet (upon him be Allah's salah and salam) recommended to his community for both physical and mental illnesses. Therefore it was decided that an effort should be made to provide English speaking Muslims and non Muslims a place where they could learn about various treatments - some ancient, some traditional and some unique which have been preserved in the two foundations upon which the religion of Islam is built: the Qur'an and the authentic Hadeeths.

Consequently, the Prophetic-Medicine website was established to provide such valuable information to a world-wide audience and indeed the site, though in it's early stages has attracted attention from visitors from USA, Canada, Singapore, India, UK and others. Therefore we appreciate everyones patience and support while we prepare our materials for this site, as they are all original compilations, translations and writings on subjects which we believe will be worth the wait. Furthermore, the aim of this website is not to provide extensive information which is only useful to a particular field of professionals, rather it is intended to provide a universal database which all ages and levels of understanding can begin to understand the medicine of the Prophet (upon him be Allah's salah and salam).
